My two carry pistols are Glock 42 and Staccato C (OTW). I have ordered a Wingman with Fabriclip for the 42. But EVERYTHING else I have tried is painful when worn with long pants. Shorts im fine. I have tried everything from appendix carry all the way to about the 4 o'clock position. The only thing that is tolerable for longer than a couple hours is a cheap soft leather one I found and it still sucks. Is there a secret to this I am unaware of? Is IWB only for you scrawny anorexic looking dudes? I already have come to the conclusion the Staccato will have to be OWB but for deep conceal I need some help please.

I've had a couple of Sparks VMIIs. I still have one - fullsized 1911 - though I rarely carry it anymore. But it was always comfortable. I carried it for a decade or more with no complaints.
I starting to thing that is some of my issue. I'm covering up some abs with my taco habit.. Guess IWB is not for the months of November-December.
I can 100% assure you that the less belly flab you have, the more comfortable IWB carry (and a thousand other things in life) gets.

Appendix and a top quality leather holster. You’ll probably have to try a few to find which one is for you.

Do you carry OTW and how do you conceal it when its summer/warm out?

Im a bigger dude and IWB carry a 1911 at 8:30ish (im left handed) with little discomfort. Appendix is a definite no-go for me.

A Sparks VMii is hard to beat for both concealability and comfort, but you have to find a good belt. Cheapo walmart stuff doesnt cut it. I use either a custom leather belt made for CCW or a wilderness tactical 5 stitch. The belt is where alot of guys miss the mark with comfortable IWB.

The Canute from UBG is another very close 2nd to the VMii. Quicker turnaround time too.

So far I like the vedder light tuck the best. I don't have a staccato, but if I did that's the first thing I'd try. It is by far the best I've found so far for G26.

I don't like the old school wing holsters like the king tuck. Not a fan of any IWB with a plastic clip that I've tried yet.

My normal everyday carry now is a compact 9mm in a pocket holster. For a guy that works from home, IWB is a bit clumsier than needed. Even when I worked at a desk in an office, I could remove the pocket holster and sit it on my desk, easier than I could remove a VMII, which is sort of a 'put on and keep on all day' type of holster.

When I need more concealment, like at the beach or fishing/canoing in shorts, I will sometimes use Thunderwear. Yes, those. I'm most likely to carry the 1911 (fullsized but AL frame) when wearing a loose t-shirt and going somewhere that printing isn't a big deal.

As someone said above, all of this assumes you're starting with a stiff belt. I've had Beltman and Sparks belts and Wilderness Instructor and right now my newest is a Kore. But I'm assuming you already know you need a good belt.

I wore the precursor to the GT cross draw appendix for my G30 backup when I worked in law enforcement, and it is still in use almost 15 years later. I've added a few more GT/Slim since then and find them comfortable, durable, and secure.

They are like footwear though, and what is comfortable for me might be different for you, but the Garretts make good things.

Confused as to how the length of your pants correlates to the comfort of the waistband. Figure out what about your shorts makes carrying more comfortable and buy long pants that fit similarly enough to emulate it?

I've never had complaints about any of the Haley Strategic Incog holsters I've owned.

Relentless Tactical Defender and 4 o'clock carry.

Appendix carry is insane unless you like the muzzle of a loaded gun up against your tools, especially when you sit down. It's always uncomfortable, and I won't risk it. With 4 o'clock carry, the worst that can happen is you graze your ass cheek.

I like beer and tacos a bit much for appendix.. Right now have a Vedder an a MuddyRiverTac that I like.

I will say, if your belt is a lil short or clothes dont fit with the gun, it will bring the suck.

I second this… I may be missing something but I can’t recall ever noticing this problem

Two reasons IMO 1. my shorts fit a tick looser but the big one my waist to thigh size is odd. Shorts have looser leg room than my pants thus that little area between a front pocket and zipper is tighter in pants for me. And its hard to find pants that are loose there but where I still dont look like snoop dog baggy pants...

Vedder IWB with their padded wedge for AIWB is by far the best option I have tried.

That being said, you may have to alter what you wear if youre going to start carrying IWB regularly. I buy my pants a touch on the looser side and favor more flexible materials.
