Looking for something 67" or more that is light. The Frontcountry (67" / 38oz) fits those metrics, is there anything else out there?

I have a Frontcountry and love it so far. I am 6'2" tall. I love how light it is for the height and have come to really like the head on it. The ability to pin the ball so that it moves only straight up and down paired with the fluid pan is great for glassing.

What would you do with a tripod like that? I have a slik 634 which is 64” tall and 34 oz, but I think at its fully extended height it’s nearly unusable because it’s not stable. Great for sitting though. Maybe the stabilized optics would make it usable, I haven’t tried those yet.

So I can glass standing. 64" is too short. I have stabilized glass I can use but this would be for the non-stabilized stuff.

A trekking pole is sufficient for stabilized glass (sitting down).

Thanks. How stable is it glassing standing up fully extended? Can you shoot from it? I don't need PRS level stability.

I have used my spotter (angled) and my Binos (on a tricer BA mount) while standing and worked great. With a 10 lb rifle with an Arca balance plate I have shot off of it seated out to 500, standing to 300 effectively.

I think there are several options in the 3-3.5lb range that are very stable. My 2-vets The Kit is tall like you are looking for and is a few oz over 3lb, its plenty stable to shoot off, for big optics, etc. Rrs I think has something similar and even more $. Not sure if sirui or leofoto has a similar model, but if so those would be worth checking out. But to go more than a few ounces less, as far as I know you will need a center column model, which wont be as stable when extended all the way.
