It's not dead and I do not think it's going anywhere any time soon.

The 300 is not dead and neither is it's little brother the 30-06. Just because they have been around forever many people look past them to the latest wazoo cartridge, but they still just plain work.

My 2 favorite cartridges! The bigger one is about to make my shoulder hurt.

My 300winmag cuts paper and destroys steel and critters out to 1400yd on a pretty regular basis. Is the 300 dead? Hell no.

My favorite rifle is my 300 Win Mag and my back up is my trusty old 30-06.

I had my first custom rifle made this winter & debated for weeks on caliber, ended up going w/ 300 Win, I've killed over 50 critters with my original one. Love the cartridge.

This my next rifle purchase so I hope it's not dead. Also after hours of researching past, current, and future calibers I hope I didn't come to the wrong conclusion.

The US Army has had great success with it's relatively new M2010 sniper rifle and newest 220gr ammo. Taliban and isis targets absolutely hate it, or would if they knew it was what was terminating them.
