I have with 230gr Bergers. Wasn’t a super hot load, I think 91-92gr and 3075fps. I’ve since switched to 215’s and it hammers.Has anyone loaded this in a 300rum with 220-230 projectiles?
Here’s the info from the Vihtavouri website:Vihtavouri also recommends against using N570 with heavy loads in temps below -4 degrees Fahrenheit due to increased pressure. Didn’t know this at the time, had an N570 load go out of tune on a hunt in Alberta several years ago due to super cold temps.
Here’s the info from the Vihtavouri website:
Vihtavuori manufactures propellants also for military use and our products are tested according to NATO standards and requirements. Military cartridges are tested in extreme cold conditions down to -54 °C / -65 F. In these extreme minus temperature tests, heavy loads with N570 have shown signs of increased pressure. As safety comes first, we urge the reloading community to strictly adhere to the following safety measure:
Due to risk for high pressure in heavy loads we do not recommend using N570 powder in temperatures below -20 degrees Celsius / -4 degrees Fahrenheit. If using heavy loads in cold temperatures, we recommend using powder N568 instead. All other N500-series powders are safe to use in any temperature also below 0 °C / 32 F.
