My current hunting load is a Barnes 168gr TTSX .308 with 43gr of Varget, and its pushing about 2585 fps. When I came up with this load I did a ladder test from 41.5 to 43.5 and found that 43 shot the best. After reading the painless load development method I loaded up 10 round just below book max at 44grs and it shot exceptionally well. As good, if not better, than at 43gr. Plus I bumped my FPS up to 2690 fps. My current dilemma is that I have about 40 or so rounds already load to 43gr ready to go. I want to pull those 40 rounds and add one grain of charge and reseat the bullets but im not sure if pulling them and reseating them is going to affect the accuracy. Am I safe doing this or should I shoot all of the 43gr ones first. Components are expensive nowadays, especially copper monos.
Likely going to pull 5-10 and test it but wanted some experienced peoples opinions as well.
Thanks!
