The reason you have to notch sex is because some does will grow antlers (I shot one myself in the late 90s) and some bucks will not have antlers. Biologists want to know the sex of animal harvested.

I've jumped around a bit. Grew up in Hampshire County, then moved to Monongalia County while attending WVU. Work moved me to Nicholas County for a couple years. Now I'm living in Raleigh County. I have a buddy that lives up near you in Reedsville.What part of WV? Preston Co here. We count every point for whitetail, just feels off not counting browtines/eye guards on mule deer.
