Is Inreach still the go-to?

I've got a hunt planned this October in the Flat Tops.

3-4 hunters probably hunting solo a few days. Are the Inreach still the best way of staying connected with one another and the world at large? I'll need to get an update or 2 from work over the 8-10 days we will be out.

We had a pair of them in 2017 and they worked well enough. Are there other options that have taken their place as the gold standard? I'll probably have my phone set up with OnX for the GPS needs.

I wouldn’t leave home without mine. They released a mini version a while back but other than that not much has changed. I don’t know if anyone has released anything comparable.

I think so, I use it weekly. I have the mini. $12 a month. Even during trips when I go way over my package, biggest bill I received was $34. It links with my garmin mk1 watch and my iPhone. I have never had service issues. I consider it to one of the best investments I have for the outdoors.
