Went w Ram in 2021 unit 23 and had a great hunt. Looking to head back in 2026. Besides costs going up, to be expected w inflation etc, what's the general consensus? Can a guy still have a great barren ground caribou hunt or have those days passed us by.

We went in 2018 and again in 2022, we saw a significant difference in numbers of bou. Watch the regs up there, I believe there are still large closures in much of the area. We planned 7 days, lost two in Bettles, we went 4 for 6.

Just the fact your asking this on social media platform should tell you.
More people are hunting the same places. Alaska is in a rough way right now. Deer are all in one place. Go read the forums here’s. Moose are only in about two places. Read the moose forum. Caribou are only in one place.

Everyone with a phone can look and see who, when, where, how to go do a hunt. Research is done from the toilet now. Not on the ground like it was 20-30 years ago when things were in their “prime”.

Everyone has access to the information and people share it readily. Yes. Expect more people. We have done this to ourselves.
