Hello

Just wondering if anyone who hunted with Ironbound Lake Outfitter's can give us an update. I hunted with Mark in 2019, we were the 4 th hunt in a given area, and ultimately only saw one tiny bull. When we came out Mark was no where to be found. Numerous phone calls, texts and emails yielded a response from Mark that he would make it good. Then Covid hit. Last communication with him over a year ago he stated he would be glad to host me in 2025. Been texting, calling, emailing since September, no responses whatsoever.

Is he still in business? Did anyone that hinted with in fall 2024 have any issues,

Thanks

Think that should tell you all you need to know about him. A guy in camp on my hunt this year with a different outfit hunted with him before and said he was a crook. Talked to some guys in the airport in Toronto who hunted with him. They killed nice bulls and said they would never hunt with him again....

Thanks for your reply Nickziegler,

I'm afraid you're right, I was looking for a reasonable explanation. The area had been already hunted hard for three weeks and there weren't many options left. We did get moved to a different camp, spent one entire day making it habitable. The hunters cleaned, swept, washed while the guide putzed around. Bottom of the wood stove was so rotten we couldn't have had a warming fire if we needed one for fear of dying. The place was so unlevel that a water bottle would barely stand straight up on the table. The camp was an absolute mess. When we flew out there were quite a few hunters there that were justifiably upset. They experienced similar disasters. Marks dad was on site but Mark himself was no where to be found. Obviously he was in hiding. Says a lot about the man's character. Best to take my loss and live with it. After all this I'd be afraid to show up In New Foundland for fear there would be no one there to take us in the bush.
Thanks again
