iPhone USB and SD card reader

Anyone know if I will be able to plug in my on X maps chip and have it read into my iPhone? I wonder how this will play into the chip vs downloading the app and getting their service. Maybe I'm wishful thinking. But would be cool for the on X guys to provide this ability (just looking for a reason to dump my Garmin). This pic is from Apple"s big event today.

There is nothing currently available, as an app that will directly read a garmin .img file for the Iphone. You may be able to convert using Mapc2mapc, going to mobileatlas then to geotiff, or to a cpl of iphone map formats that mapc has listed in their conversion utility. You may also need to scrub the copy protection off the .img file if it came from onx. I've converted other map types but haven't messed with a garmin .img file at this point.

Pdfmaps from avenza will read that geotiff natively. You can use dropbox to move the converted map from the pc to the iphone, thru the Avenza app.
