hey guys

my iPhone 14 (not-Pro) is starting to die. Been very happy with it but before I head in to the store, do you guys think it's worth the upgrade to the 15 (pro or not-pro) or stay with the 14 (might even go with the Pro).

I'm still running Mag-view, and I understand the Mag view app is still not working on the 15. Although I don't use the app, I'd like the option.

Anyway, whadduya all think?

thanks in advance

15 pro is half an ounce lighter, and uses usbc to charge which is one less cord to carry so that’s a plus. It also has a slightly larger sensor area so marginally better photo/video in low light.

The 3nm silicon a17 is (again marginally) faster than the a16 in the pro 14.

On the other hand, 3rd party testing has shown that the 14 pro has longer battery life and charges faster.

Apps will catch up, but personally I’d hate to be in your shoes right now because the first iteration of new processor architecture is always a pain to deal with, but being able to ditch a charging cable would be nice.

I would go with the 15 pro and just hope that the apps catch up before I need them.

Wait it out until September and catch a deal on a 15 or just get a 16. If it matters to you (probably not) some of the new *AI* stuff will only work on 15 pros and 16+ phones.

If you don’t work for the iPhone store, you should! Thanks for the tips, man

That’s a great idea if this 14 will make it that long. Didn’t think of that. Thanks.

You can also sell back your 14 and move to a 15. I have used this site with good results. A phone is so critical to what we do (communication, mapping, SOS) its probably worth upgrading but certainly not needed.

I am in the same boat so have been investigating. 14 or newer for satellite options. 15 pro for AI enhancements.
I am doing a 15 pro I think. 16 is mid sept. My battery on my 11 is too weak to take archery elk IMG_8790.PNGIMG_8870.jpgso need one soon.

Can't you pay a reasonable amount for a battery replacement? Should hold you over for a year

Yes but I did that on my iphone 11 and wasn't happy. Started off great, but within 60 days was only showing 80% performance. Battaries plus warrantied it but same thing happened again! Not sure I trust the process anymore.

How is the picture taking ability of the 15’s? Didn’t one of the iPhones have a really good camera but a processor that couldn’t keep up with the camera resulting in poorer picture quality?

The 15 Pro is my pick. I liked the stronger options of the optical zoom, over the regular 15. And, MagView does now, FINALLY, work on my 15 PRO
