Iowa zone 5 draw odds for First Time Drawer??

Any input on odds of drawing an Iowa first or second gun season tag as a non-resident first time attempter?

I would be looking to probably go Dec 3-7 or Dec 10-18 for Zone 5. I heard 50/50 odds for first attempt with no points?

If I understand correctly that you start with zero points on your first attempt, then it would appear that I would have a 0% chance to draw a zone 5 gun tag on the first try, but would be highly likely the next year with a preference point.

My farm is in zone 5. We all draw muzzy tags every other year and alternate family members. So far it has been 100% by doing that.

Yes. Last year no one got a tag on their 1st attempt in zone #5. It does not necessarily mean no one will this year but it doesn't look promising.
