Iowa nonresident zone 9

Looking for feedback on Nonresident zone 9. Has anyone hunted it DIY for deer and was it any good?

I drew a zone 9 archery tag 2 years ago. Hunted by da. I ended up getting permission on a pc of private from a farmer (about 65 acres) and had a spot on public. I live in MN about 80 miles away so left out cell cams. Lots of deer. I saw a 140 class at 40 yds my first sit but passed thinking I could get better. Ended up being a bad move as I didn’t harvest anything but all in all was a great experience.

Thanks for the feedback. Did you have to do a lot of door knocking to get permission on the private? A 140 is not a bad deer but you will never get a monster if you shoot the 140. Hats off to ya for passing him up.
