I was just online checking the reissue preview list from Colorado and saw this update. They are trying to reduce any impact that software/coding/etc. have on snagging tags on the reissue list. I am a fan if it works!

Well, a not-super-desirable but low quota tag I want finally popped up this week so I'll be giving it a shot tomorrow.

I think they need to keep pursuing the bots issue, but also go back to the tags randomly being added at random times. The current model resembles Black Friday doorbuster type retail sales, and no matter how good the deal is, I won’t do those. Having the same type of experience trying to get a tag online sucks, too.

I'd also like to know more about the actual "reissue" process. It says right on their page that "Most limited licenses returned for refund or preference point restoration will be reissued to the next qualified hunter who applied through the draw" yet a tag I applied for and did not get has sold off the reissue list at least twice.

Pretty sure that depends on how many points the tag requires to draw. Over a certain number of max points, they reissue to the next applicant. Under that number, it goes to the reissue list.

"Most limited licenses returned for refund or preference point restoration will be reissued to the next qualified hunter who applied through the draw. All reissued licenses are still subject to annual bag limits and refund/preference point restoration regulations.

Sheep, Goat & Moose Licenses

Sheep, goat and moose licenses continue to be reissued to the next person in the draw order.

Deer, Elk, Pronghorn and Bear (4 or less preference points)

These returned limited licenses (excluding Ranching for Wildlife) will be available on the leftover list.

Deer, Elk, Pronghorn and Bear (5 or more preference points)

Returned deer, elk, pronghorn and bear hunt codes that took 5 or more resident preference points to draw will be reissued to the next person in the draw order. These reissued licenses will require the use of preference points if accepted. If one of the first 5 customers contacted do not accept it, the license will then be added to the Reissue Preview List, and finally the Leftover List."

They need to run a system like NV. 24/7, first come first serve, add a tag to your cart, 5 minutes to purchase, if not, goes back on and you are excluded from adding any other tags to your cart for 7 days. Could be modified to be 1 tag per species for the 7 day time out.

I'm curious why there are so many bull elk tags left over in unit 11. Is that because there's a huge tag allocation (even for 4th season?) or because people are backing out over the Derby fire?
