As an avid hunter and avid fly fisher, it pains me rokslide doesn’t have a fishing section. The reality is no one out there is even close to the interaction day to day that rokslide brings. I’m on several fishing forums, but a post may go days, if not weeks or months, without so much as a view.

Anyway, I’d love to see something like that get added here. Maybe I’m barking up the wrong tree, but if a bunch of guys that would rather die than share a hunting spot can make a forum this active, surely we could keep a fishing one going as well.

Alas, I step off my soap box.

I think there would be more discussion about whether the black/yellow panther martins catch more fish or if the yeller/orange ones take the cake.

Yeah I’m an eastern boy so the PNW one is pretty well useless to me. I try to get out west to fish as often as I can, but that forum leaves a lot of the country under appreciated.

I just got into fly fishing this year as I had some extra days to spend in the mountains after filling my tag earlier than expected, and caught my first rainbow. Similar to @ArcherAdam I plan on taking my fly rod with me every time I go into the mountains from here forward.

In fact I just finished reading a book about fly fishing and plan to read more. A sub-forum on the topic would be grest as I’d love to learn from others on here much the way I have for hunting.

Ive a pile of those. Dont think I have ever caught anything with one though. Seems IIRC they need a faster retrieve than the panthermartins do?
Yessir sure them in creeks and streams Reeling them up current they give some good action, real killer is those baby raps though, caught my biggest and best rainbows and browns on them. Fly fish is fun and all …. But when the fish on the front range have seen 90000 flies, show them a flashy lure and catch them

I absolutely love to fly fish, a long with any kind of fishing. I see no need or attraction to a fly fishing sub forum. Many of us enjoy small game hunting and trapping, see how well that’s doing.

Plus, everyone above has it wrong, blue fox catches way more trout than any of the subpar lures mentioned

If Rokslide is open to more forums, can we also add: where should I move, what’s the best western state to hunt, I’m visiting the west and really want my kid to catch a fish,…
