Working on a rebarrel for my Interarms Mark X in 280 Remington. The Mark X is a Mauser Long thread action and McGowan builds barrels for them. My question is what twist rate should I be looking at. I'm planning on shooting 160 grain Nosler Accubonds (If i can find them). Going with a 22" barrel. With the shorter barrel and heavier bullet thinking a 1 in 8" but want to check if I'm thinking right.

1 in 9" will be fine for that. My 7-08AI is 1 in 8.7" and only 20". It launches 162 grain ELD-X bullets just fine and I am confident that it would do fine with 175s as well.

If you will never shoot over 160 to 175 lead core bullets, then 1:9 is fine. If you think you might try some of the monometal designs, or bump up to 175+ VLD designs, then go 1:8.

There isn't a downside to going 1:8, so I would just do that.
