Instaling windows on existing steel building

Frame down from your Purlin shown in the picture. Run your King studs vertical install a header the a sill. cutout the opening. You can use a sawzall to cut it out after you frame it up. Install J-trim and your ready to roll.

Man, there is some misused terminology on this thread.

‘Purlins’ are installed on top of the trusses. They have no factor in this topic.

‘Girts’ are the horizontal members that connect the poles.

No king studs or structural headers are needed.

Thinking back, I built my first pole barn about 44 years ago. I’ve done a few. 😉
