Brand new to the Inreach mini. Is there a way to pull up numbers in addition to the letters to use to send a txt message?

It's a lot easier if you use the phone app, but at the top of the alphabet list, you will find options for other symbols and numbers. Use the "return" button on the side to cycle through the options.

I'm not sure why someone would use the inreach to write w message instead of the APP. Guess if you're phone isn't available or is broken you would need it.

For texting messages use the phone app. Using the keys on your mini inReach will drive you crazy and takes forever.

Writing a brief text on the InReach saves the phone battery, especially if it’s shut off and has to be turned on to text. On a 10 day or longer hunt I never run out of battery on the the IR but only get 4 or 5 days out of the phone being very conservative on how both are utilized.

Scroll up to the symbol above the “A” which looks like a squashed U or this symbol ] but laying flat. Hit the return button (which will now have a keyboard symbol on the screen next to it) repeatedly to scroll through lower case letters, numbers, symbols, emojis and finally back to upper case letters.

This is on a Mini 2. I don’t recall if it was the same for a Mini
