These units are priceless. Used it many times to text with family while I had no cell coverage.
Used the SOS feature this past spring. We were helping in the search for a lost Mtn biker in Colorado. Below freezing temps. We found his tracks. Sent the SOS with messages. The SAR chopper was there in 15 minutes. They followed the tracks to an abandon cabin. The unit saved his life I’m certain.
Works great! You will need a subscription to Garmin. I’ve just paid the $11/month safe plan. Can pay month to month.
