Man where do I start? These are stories to tell over beer

Tore bicep tendon playing flag football with a bunch of cub scouts, missed turkey season. Fully recovered for the following season than got hit with the flu and missed the season again....

Play basketball over lunch at work. Too many sprains, strains, ankle rolls to count. Now I NEVER play BB a week or two before hunting season.

As someone else mentioned, agility, core strengthening, streatching become more important as I get older. Yoga is good. I do a lot of bicycling now, easier on joints and helps my lower back.

I do less lifting than when I was young. More mass = more load to cary. Bench press and bicep curls just make you look good in the mirror.

I have had an L5-S1 herniation that has talked to me every day for 15 years. Some days it screams at me, and others it just nags.

Also as I get older, my knees hurt more and more. Especailly as I train for hunting season.

I do find that stretching is a huge help. I do yoga sometimes as a formal workout, but also just stretch as often and as much as possible.

I always take a medrol dose pack with me when I hike/hunt. It can really help if my sciatic pain increases. I have also started taking curcumin/turmeric and have been able to decrease the amount of Aleve I had been taking..

Pinched a nerve in my lower back. Other than that just standard aches and pains. Did a 4.5 mile hike yesterday with 60lb pack. Now my left knee has swelled to the size of a softball!

Never get bronchitis 4 weeks before your once in a lifetime sheep hunt after you'd been prepping and getting in great shape over the prior 6 months. And if you do, don't let it go unchecked for 10 days before going to the doc. Tends to set you back a ways. Or so I've heard... ;-)

Don't dislocate your knee playing mud volleyball a month before archery starts

5 surgeries over the last 8 years because of wrestling, this winter I tore a ligament in my thumb that I had to have fixed and 2 days before that I tore my second ac joint. Still waiting for the thumb to heal completely but I think I'm gonna have to switch from shooting left handed to right handed this archery seaskn
