what would you recommend for inflatable raft/boat. Will be getting dropped on a lake by float plane to hunt moose. Weight is not hugh concern but obviously don't want it to be monsterous. Not wanting to break the bank if can keep from it. You think something like an Intex Excursion would work for this?

The Intex is a swimming pool toy. Take a look at an Alpacka Fjord Explorer or Pristine Adventures PR49 for the amount of weight you will need to support. Floating around with a boned out moose, you and your gear will sink an Intex.

You are flying all that way, I'd give Pristine Adventures a shout about getting a rental and maybe you can get a PR-49 rented up there. If you are just going out on a lake without a whole lot of gear, I'd think the Intex could work. But from what I've seen of the cheaper types like that, there is lower quality control so there is a higher chance of a hole out of the box and they are usually a lot less abrasion resistant so you will have to be super careful. You are going all that way and spending all that money; you don't want to ruin your hunt with a cheap raft that gets a hole out of the gate. Now if you are fine hunting without a raft and it is a nice-to-have, then go for it.

What would a used alpacka cost? Cant find one for sale on here. If i bought a new one what could I expect to sell it for after i used it for 1 year.

Every one I have seen pop up on ebay seem to go for at least $700. For example; I found a once used Denali Llama with paddle that sold for $725 (with shipping), so you're looking at a pretty hefty loss of about $300. I think a lot of these rental places sell theirs off every year so it might be worth giving them a call to inquire about that.

I haven't seen many or any go for much less than that, so if you can get one in that neighborhood you should be good. There is one on ebay right now for $850.

If looking to float moose around a lake then Pr 49 will be much better craft and less wet. Plus if you are ok with a $300 it should be much less than that. Plus if going with another guy you can easily paddle both of you around with day hunt gear around or across the lake. Can't do that with an Alpacka nearly as easily.

I'll also add that you can check a PR-49 in a duffle with quite a bit of other gear as a checked bag for a flight quite easily. I've done it several times now. I've also found other uses for them since they are so portable.
