IMR 4350 vs H4350 338 win mag

Trying to find a good load for a new Tikka T3 in .338 win. Really want to get the 230 ELD-X to shoot well.
Tried H4350 and found a node at 71 grains moving 2850 FPS. Groups weren’t good when tested at various seating depths.

Next I tried 74 grains of RL19 and just loaded some at 74 grains with various seating depths. Found a decent group with CCI 250’s, but still at 1.5”. I’m thinking I can ladder test RL19 and find a decent charge weight, but still unknown. Seems slightly promising though.

I have IMR 4350, and that’s supposed to be a very good powder for the .338, but it’s just a touch faster than H4350 in the burn chart.

Is it even worth trying IMR 4350, or would I be better off with IMR or H 4831? 4831 is pretty much RL19 in the burn chart, but it might be worth a shot. The 4 powders I listed are all available to me and known as good powders for the .338. Some others that seem to be good are H 414 and RL 16 and 17.

Anyone having luck with the 230 ELD-X and a .338 Winny?

I used IMR 4831 years ago in mine with a 220 gr pills

Have not loaded the 230 ELDX but have load 225's with IMR 4350 with very good results. I have also have good results with H4350, Hunter, Superformance and R-19. All of these have been less than MOA at 200 yards. These are also from a Tikka T-3 lite SS.

IMR 4350 is all my buddy uses in his with 225gr partitions. Sub MOA

IMR 4350 is not very temperature stable, H4350 is very temperature stable. Both have very similar burn rates so H4350 is a better option if you can find it.
