Import waypoints into GoHunt, get $100 gear credit

GoHunt has been running some pretty lucrative promotions recently. Makes one wonder if they are struggling to get members. I am not a CPA but when I see things like this, I wonder if there is some tax advantage they are taking advantage of. Who knows.

Its alway money back to the Gear Shop which makes me wonder if its two different entities. Gain money on member platform side, lose money on the gear side.

100$ to the gear shop is likely only worth 40-60$ as well, so they aren’t taking as big of a hit as it would seem.

Gohunt is only paying 40-70% (wholesale) for the items they sell in the shop. So if you get the credit and spend it on a 100$ item, gohunt only has like 50$ in that item- as opposed to giving you 100$ cash.

These things tend to be based off of full retail items as well, so if an item is 20% off on sale often they're excluded so your $100 is already only worth $80 (I know it's not exact math) so they save that way as well. Just speaking in general terms, no idea about this actual promo.

Lorenzos dad is a casino bigwig for golden entertainment and pretty sure go hunt is under their umbrella of holdings, sort of play project for lorenzo to run or something like that. probably not a big deal if it runs at a loss

I am not really going to get into that level of speculation. I just think it’s funny every time a company do things like this, it’s because they are struggling/failing. It surprises me how many people can’t wrap their head around the games that are played when you have a company to that size.

I did it this morning, sent them an email, and got a response an hour later with my account updated. It couldn’t have been easier.

Yes. Because their mapping service sucks compared to OnX.
