Looking at these two actions for a short action hunting rifle. Will most likely buy a 2nd bolt (standard and Mag bolt face) and give the switch barrel set up a go.
I think the Lone Peak is about 26oz and the Impact NBK is 30oz.
Any input on these 2 actions or how would they compare? Pros/Cons for each? What one would be better for harsh hunting conditions in Alberta?
Other components for the build are
Stock - Manners Pro Hunter adjustable with micro chassis, Sendero Lite Barrel Channel and M5 inletting
Barrel - either a carbon barrel or a steel spiral fluted barrel, leaning towards the steel profile - need to decide. Looking at Benchmark and KS Arms.
Bottom Metal - Will most likely run Hawkins Hunter DBM or Gray Ops. I prefer a floor plate but with the switch barrel set up the mags will work better with less work. Have Hawkins M5 Obendorf with Wyatts mag/follower that I would like to use but not sure its ideal in a switch barrel set up?
Trigger - Trigger Tech Special
