Check with Ethics Archery. Was planning on Iron Will but they don't make them large enough, any recommendations for a collar that works on the Black Eagle Vintage shafts?
agreed, I dumped the collars years agoThere aren't many collar/footer options out there for standard diameter shafts. IMO a collar isn't really warranted for a standard shaft, but to each his own.
Thank you for that info. There aren't many collar/footer options out there for standard diameter shafts. IMO a collar isn't really warranted for a standard shaft, but to each his own.
That said, you could possibly make your own out of an aluminum shaft of the correct inside diameter. The first 2 digits of an aluminum shaft model number are the OD in 64ths of an inch, and the second 2 digits are the wall thickness in thousandths (i.e., 2117 = 21/64" OD, 17/1000" WT). So the ID of an ABCD aluminum shaft is AB/64 – 2×CD/1000 (i.e., 2117 ID = 21/64 – 2×17/1000 = .294").
Or go with 11/32 headsThis is an old post, but something I didn't see mentioned, was that when you foot a standard diameter shaft, the end of the arrow becomes a larger diameter than standard tips and broadheads and you end up with a lip that impedes penetration, if you go this route, make sure you bevel the front end to even it up.
