I’m debating on trying the 100 gr oryx in 243. I already have an accurate load for the 95 grain sst. But the oryx sounds promising. Any experience/ recipes you fellas have would be appreciated.

I appreciate the information. I guess my main concern though is will they open up enough on a whitetail to make a good wound channel?

I dont have any experience with that particular load, but the oryx is pretty soft. It should open up just fine. I really like that bullet for deer.

I chose them specifically to use in a 6x45 built on an older Sako Vixen action which has limited OAL due to action size. I’ve shot a couple whitetail bucks with that exact bullet with fine results and quite a bit less velocity than your 243 will produce. I would be confident with them on any deer sized game, great performance and both bucks died within sight. Small sample size but I’m more than satisfied. I hunt in the Adirondacks so shots are close. PM me if you’d like.
