Since my 1st ever hunt of any kind last May 2024 went so well, I've decided this year I'm planning a B4 hunt aka BBBB aka 60th Birthday Big Brown Bear hunt for October 2025. I want a picture of me eating my birthday cake next to a huge dead brown bear. Currently, there are 3 of us taking part in this epic adventure. Me and 2 other women from our Hunting group. Gun this time will be a Sako 90 .375 H&H with a Leupold scope. For the black bear I used a Tikka T3x 30-06 with 1 shot drop performance. We've settled on GMU 9, either C or E. I'll call AF&G in the summer to ascertain which creeks, streams, etc have the best salmon counts and base our location off those stats. I figured lots of fish = lots of hungry bears. We will use a Zodiak with 9.9 hp motor to aid in this quest. Any additional tips would be greatly appreciated. And no....I'm not asking for your favorite GPS coordinates. I know better. And if anyone knows of a reasonably priced transporter to drop us off and pick us up...well that would be fantastic. I included a picture with my last year's bear.
