i think i could live the rest of my life, doing what i do in the outdoors with two knives. a Mora Carbon Companion, and a Victorinox Farmer. about $50 worth of knife.
i used to use an ALOX SOLDIER, but i thought i lost it and ordered the FARMER. wife grabbed the soldier.
i have so many knives that never get used just because those two kickass so much. as a field civil engineer that ALOX knife gets used daily. the blade is a straight razor, i peel open sample cans, cut avocados and bagels..scrap paint on bridges with the pointy thing. i even opened a can of tuna. and beer? pfftt..i've lost count of bottles opened. the MORA needs no introduction. nufsaid about that fantastic bargain knife.
i wash the ALOX nightly with my dishes (by hand). and then it goes back next to my wallet for the next day. the new farmer version is fantastic..just like the soldier, but comes with a saw!
