Anyone ever use an illuminated Leupold or swaro scope for night time calling? I have an acog and really like it for night time but I’m interested in something with a little more
Zoom.

I use illuminated reticles in almost all my scopes. For calling at night, I love my VXR from Leupold. It’s the cheapest scope I have but I love that fire dot in the middle of my reticle for quick acquisition. There’s no need for holdovers at night.

I’m really leaning towards the zeiss v4 4-24. I like Leupolds but once I went swaro it’s hard to go to anything else. The price tag is the only thing keeping me from the z6i. I feel like the zeiss might Split the difference of the.

Yeah, thermal seems to be the top option these days. I’ve been using a gen 3p NV sight, and have stacked up quite few dogs. The only Achilles heel to this is when it is snowing or foggy, visibility is quite compromised.

The only reason why I haven’t seriously looked into thermal is because we can’t use them in any contest. I only do a few a year but all my varmint hunting is pretty much getting ready for those. One day maybe we’ll actually place in one lol
