If you could only pick one method

This thread is getting derailed a bit, but to put the question back on course, what trips your trigger, fuels your drive, the one method that you can't get enough of. I like to fill the freezer, get in close with a bow, take some shots close and far with a rifle and use a muzzleloader just as much as anyone else, but its trapping that fuels me.

" the history of the bow and arrow is the history of mankind"...... i try to think about what my ancient archery ancestors would have been thinking at the time, impossible to duplicate, but i like to think that deep down inside me there are still some remnants of those killer instincts.
Only the bow.
Learn to kill.......or starve.

I could use only a bow (compound or recurve) and my .454 Casull revolver for the rest of my days.

I enjoy shooting and hunting with things that go boom to much to abandon them entirely.

Flintlock and I would pray to god they had a season just dedicated to them.... I always liked flintlock hunters. They typically are true sportsmen and good people.

I too have a soft spot for the flinters and I hope to get a 32 cal flinter to hunt small game soon.

today, it would be a compound, though I haven't shot them much the last 1.5yrs. I would like to answer this with a trad bow, but a compound is a weapon I can fill the freezer with reliably.... if my life depended on it, I would take the compound, they are awesome hunting weapons.

there will be a day a recurve is as reliable as a compound for killing critters, maybe this year on, but time will be the only judge of that.

thank goodness we don't have to choose, I like hunting with a rifle too, and a scatter gun, but I wouldn't give up archery elk season to rifle hunt everything.

I pretty much just like hunting, the weapon used doesn't matter much to me, as long as the hunt is still challenging. killing a mature blacktail with a rifle consistently isn't a "gimme" it's still a fun challenging hunt... spring bear, I love glassing a ton of country watching the spring woods that are always alive.... with a bow, it's a different type of hunt.... still fun, but it's a lot different strategy if you want to kill a bear, and you won't get to see all of the things you do glassing. I think my favorite part of spring bear hunting is the sights I see, it's less of a killing a bear hunt, and more of watching the awesome scenes that spring gives, but with a purpose.

calling lions, I want a rifle... the time and effort it takes to call one in makes it the most challenging tag to fill on purpose in this state.... i don't need to add another level of difficulty, it's way hard enough.... I like it all!

I do love elk hunting but it's a huge pain in the ass living 2,000 miles away from them. When I can no longer spend most of November fifteen feet up a tree with a bow in hand I'll hang it up for good. Also If I was confined to hunt a couple hundred acres I think I'd lose interest pretty quickly, since I don't plan on becoming a billionaire that probably limits me to public land.

I have always admired bowhunters and wished I would have gotten into the sport but my shoulders just aren't up to the brake in the cams, so I'll just envy those hunting with a bow.

I enjoy hunting with a rifle and shotgun, but bowhunting is my passion. To me, the ultimate thrill in hunting is to call an animal in. On the ground, face to face on its home turf, to successfully call it in is the thing that really gets me fired up. Although elk is number one on the list of animals to call in for me, I've also called in and killed deer, bears, and turkeys with my bow. Is it the only method I use...no of course not. A successful hunter utilizes any and all methods he can to fill the freezer.

I started with a bow, and have killed most animals with archery and muzzleloader equipment. As of the last few years I have rifle hunted quite a bit. I enjoy all of it
I would pick rifle based on my current skill level and having meat is my top priority.

I used to do bow, rifle and muzzle loader just so I had more opportunities, now all I do is rifle and I shoot my bow in the yard.

Because of where I live now, I’d pick rifle for everything. Saying I’d only archery hunt sounds cool which is probably why so many people say it but to me, that’s where it ends, if I could only pick one way to hunt, I’d pick the was that brought me more success and that’s rifle.
