Idaho wolf IDFG special permits

As a Montana resident purchasing non res Idaho wolf tags, I am curious of any info on the special permits for expanded hunting methods of wolves mentioned in big game regs.
Specifically, taking wolves outside of hunting hours by obtaining permission from IDFG regional office.

I did a search on that myself. AI told me to contact the regional office for the unit(s) to be hunted and they will issue the permits needed. That was for public land. My understanding is you dont need a permit only written landowner permission if huniing private
