They are still proposals at this point, but talk of going otc for private ground in 31,32a, 22. Use of bait and dogs for spring hunts.

Even though I still have yet to draw one of these tags, I like the idea that if I do, I have the opportunity for a pretty darn good hunt. I commented on all of the bear proposals just to say that i like the mystique of the low odds draw for a good bear hunt. If it goes OTC and bait/hounds, I'll be out there the first year for the show... I imagine it'll be swamped with people...

It needs some adjustment. My in laws live a few miles outside of Council, it's not unusual to have 6-10 different bears hanging around their house in the fall.

This proposal is crap. IDFG is declaring war on predators (lions and bears). This is a great hunt and they are screwing it up for a few people who chose to live in Idaho, among bears, and among public land, but bitch about it.

You can legally outfit and guide hunts on private land in Idaho. A couple years ago they gave them a ton of private land only draw tags. They should be happy about it, or move back to California.

The same people complaining about bears won't let hunters on their land.
