Out of curiosity, what do you mean by this? I have a Middle Fork rag in my pocket. Looking to go to the Frank this fall. I am looking for an adventure. Sure taking a bull elk will be icing on the cake, but I can have a great time and not shoot an animal.

Similar to the OP, this will be my maiden voyage out west hunting elk. I’d say I’m pretty bushy and somewhat in shape, but running marathons but very capable and very mentally tough.

I have made a few trips into the Frank Church Wilderness. It is really rugged/steep country and game can be spread pretty thin. All of the trips have been memorable even though I have only filled one tag.
