Has anyone hunted Unit 30a in Idaho? Specifically the late muzzleloader elk hunt in November.
I have been in the unit numerous times but 90% of it has been out in the rolling sage chasing antelope during the archery season.
I just have a few questions on the time of year access points in the east side of the unit.
Thank you!

I’ve researched the hunt. Call the forest service office, call the Fish and game office. I was surprised to hear that the bulls normally hold high up on the continental divide. Would make for a bear of a hunt. Good luck.

Thanks hikker

I figured they probably would but could possibly change depending on the amount of snow. Also seems that the MT General rifle season could push more elk over.
I’ll make contact with the departments down there as well.

Bringing this back to the top in case anybody else had some additional intel they’d like to share. Thank you!

Put in for this tag a couple times and finally drew. I’ll take the above advice but was wondering if anyone had anything else to throw out?
