Idaho Unit 18 cow tag

Hoping there is a few guys on here that have some experience with this unit this late in the year. I was lucky enough to draw a unit 18 cow tag this year and figured I would have a couple of weekends to get it done but do to a family death and a hunting trip that I already had planned it looks like the 4th and 5th might be the only days I have left, and this is sacrificing a couple of unpaid vacation days. I have been in this unit before but never this late in the year. I could do a couple of things. #1, put the Jet boat in a Pittsburg landing and see if we can find them form the river #2 come in from the main trail form the top. I think in the back of my mind I always though coming in off the river was going to be the best option but do to the lack of cold/bad weather I am second guessing myself. Not looking for someone honey hole but just a general area to get me close. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. PM me if you would prefer.

Did you draw the extra cow elk tag that only allows you to hunt the Snake River drainage?
