I am just coming off a week long hunt with Mike from Longtail Outfitters, my first guided hunt ever, and I thought a review was in order.
Mike did a great job. I would not hesitate to hunt with Mike again. We were not able to close the deal on an archery elk, but we had 4-5 solid opportunities. We just could not get the elk to break from the brush, but we were within 15-30 yards on numerous occasions. Mike is a great elk caller, and the rush from having screaming elk 15-30 yards from you is a rush like no other.
Mike is a younger guy, about 30, with a young family. Mike is very hospitable, will push the limits of your abilities, but will not over push. Mike knows the mountains and knows his business.
