Idaho elk: the NR draw

LOL, that topic was brought up during the nonresident tag committee meetings. It has been waived for the first year. Next year look for a 50.00 application fee to be included.
Oh I'm sure.
And a cut to the NR tag quota to further increase demand, plus an increase in price to offset $ loss

I disagree, you’re a. 155.00 for a license to start plus all of the other fees, its not much different and having a pile of NV points and no hope to draw any time soon.

NM is the carrying costs of putting up 10K plus a year. I dropped WY because i refuse to loan the government money for that long.
You don’t have to purchase a license to apply in NV is what I’m saying. You can apply for deer for $15ish.

How can you find out the super popular, low odds of getting a tag units? Not sure I want to donate my $200 on a really low odds unit.

This is the inaugural season for this draw, so there is no data yet.

You will have 2 draw opportunities for general tags and then another draw opportunity for controlled OIL or deer-elk-pronghorn.

The license gives you three opportunities for tags, quite a bargain for the price.

I'm totally lost on this Draw. I'm looking at hunting a specific area (Salmon/Lemhi/Beaverhead) because family lives there. I have been studying the PDFs all day. If I put in choices for an Elk zone are and then a deer unit, can I be drawn for both, or only one? and when do I know how to choose Bull or Cow? so much info not available.

I wonder how many people would be applying in western states if there weren't guys like Randy Newberg making videos showing the process step by step and providing data on hunts.

I imagine he'll soon have a video for this new draw.

Yes you can draw both, as for choosing bull or cow you can apply for an A or B tag and the seasons should be really close to 2025 which you can find in the current regulations on the website. Seasons are set on a 2 year cycle and just got done last March so unless there is an emergency change they should stay the same
