Idaho Drop Camp Elk

I'm going to hunt idaho next fall, and my son who will be 12 is going to be coming with me. He's experienced in the backcountry here in Alberta. But I'm thinking about a drop camp. Is it worth it? And does anyone have any recommendations if they've used one? Thanks!
