Well on my last chance for a tag this year I drew a rut deer tag in Idaho! Will be a busy fall with my dads Utah muzzleloader rut elk hunt and now this!

Glad to hear someone is actually drawing those late tags. I figured it was like those giveaways they do on social media and then don't actually give anything away. Good luck this fall!

I'll do a report after the hunt ends. I've met a couple guys through forums that have either had the tag recently or have it this year that I've gained some intel from. Also found out that a kid my brother knows had the tag last year and he's told us everything he learned and found out. Giving me some hope that this could turn into a really fun hunt with a chance at a solid buck!

It's looking good! I'm headed down Wednesday to set up camp and start poking around, also have a sage grouse tag I'd like to try and fill. Plan is long weekends until we start seeing the rut going, with my work schedule right now I'm fortunate that I will be able to take more time off on short notice.
