Buddy and I are thinking about doing a Spring Blackie hunt next year.
One of the things we have been talking about is the Grizz population in Idaho.
What areas are they in? Is it mainly the eastern and norther area bordering Montana?
Or is it all over the state?
just trying to get some ideas on what areas to look at.
If they are all over the state its more of a moot point for us, but would like to stay away from them if possible.

Yes, in these areas you stand a greater chance of seeing a grizzly, but I wouldn't let that push you out of an area. Access can be your biggest issue depending on the winter. At least in the Panhandle, you will find ATVs of value to get around, as snow often limits access during the early spring. That doesn't mean you can't find a bear in the lower elevation areas, but those areas will also have more hunting pressure.
