Idaho 2nd non Resident draw

Why don’t you encourage more residents to stay in WA, instead of being the #1 state after ID tags.
I think every one I know who hunts out of state still hunts at home in wa. Our seasons are short. Why wouldn’t you want people
Injecting all that money into your local
Economy? I mean there lots of places I’m sure that rely on it.

I am amazed at looking at the leftover general season tags today for deer and elk at how many unclaimed tags there were for the first draw. There were some quality hunts that went unclaimed after having to purchase your non resident hunting license just to apply. Hoping to get a deer tag the second go around.
Very interesting. Gonna give it a shot as well!!

Washington as well , but eastern elk is spike only

, western is 3 point or better but this state is a lot different as far as access there’s a list of things there

I don’t think you need worry about nonresidents flooding Washington anytime soon, especially with the new pricing. There’s a reason your state doesn’t even have a nonresident cap on special permits

I would think that map will change with the new draw system...if the people that draw purchase their tags lol
That map was from round one of this years draw, will be plenty of outfitter returned tags available in the August OTC sale if people keep forgetting to purchase, of course they must like hunting the middlefork/lolo/selway.🤣

Many of the eastern units are any elk. They are an OTC hair hunt. Those units are either predominantly private property or require a lot of scouting effort.

I wonder if people will change their unit picks based on the number of tags left in each unit.

I put in for deer, and there are less than 20 tags left in the unit that was my #1 choice.

I don't know what everyone else does, but I usually put in for second chance with the draw that has the most tags left over.

I heard a number of almost 59,000 applied so they were well north of 12 mill
Simple math, 59k x 204.00 just to enter the draw = 12,036.000.00
and then 600.00 ish for elk tags x12k ish = 7,200,000.00
Don't forget the archery permits and the other 20.00 ish fee to hunt national Forrest.

I did not calculate the deer tags, so add more $$. Idaho made 20 million + on the draw. And will adding an additional fee for the 2027 draw.

As of 1754 Eastern time, 12063 ppl have waited in line for the chance to apply for the second draw.

Idaho made 12m on the draw. Those other fees were there all along.

They don't need us, just our money.
Doesn't matter, game agencies are government. All the money will be spent, there will be little evidence of improvement, and they will complain of budget shortfalls and needing to increase revenue in short order.

But you have play to win, so play we will.
