Exactly. I was shooting 1k with an SWFA 3-9.I’ve killed countless animals, including tiny coues deer who blend in like no other, coyotes, varmints etc. with SWFA fixed 6 scopes at more than double that yardage.
I have no budget. I am at the point in my life that I could afford to purchase any scope manufactured today. I chose a SWFA 6X for its reliability and simplicity. I have used it to kill 3 elk and 4 mule deer in the last 4 years. The looks mean nothing to me. The glass is good enough for me to shoot steel at 1,000 yards and game out to 500 which is my self imposed limit.Uh oh, looks like some of SWFA die hards are getting defensive. Fwiw, they work fine. They are ugly as sin, I liken them to savage rifles. The glass is meh. But according to lots on here they work. I tried 1 and got rid of it. Nothing wrong with it, just didn't care for the looks or glass quality. If you are on a budget, they are a great option.
I used to shoot 500 yards with a burris FF2. Now my boy uses those poverty scopes on his .22's.
I’m not being defensive about SWFA scopes. I’m rebutting the comment that you can’t get a reliable long range scope without spending 1-2x or more what the rifle costs. That is a ridiculous assessment, followed by a passive aggressive response about how you need that for beyond 400 yards when he has zero knowledge of how far I shoot.Uh oh, looks like some of SWFA die hards are getting defensive. At an SWFA price lol!Yeah, the old statement of double the $$ for scope is a little out dated. I do appreciate the glass on higher $ scopes. If I could get Zeiss glass, nightforce reliability and leupold weight, I'd be a happy guy.
