Some unsolicited advice from an old deer hunter to a young one. Don’t worry about scores, take lots of pics and keep a journal. 20-30 years from now scores won’t mean shit, people and places will. My biggest deer are not my most memorable.

If it makes you feel any better, I shot a significantly smaller buck last year. I'd bet it was the smallest legal buck in my county, but damn it was delicious.
