I feel lost on boot sizing

So what I ended up doing is just saying screw it and returned/exchanged as needed. Just ensure the brand policy is good, get an approximation of size based on what other people online say (Kenetrek ended up being smaller for me than Schnee for sure) abd go from there. It's just a process.
This. I ended up doing this last year before my sheep hunt. I have wierd feet and fall in between a 13 and a 14. I just had to order and return a ton of boots in both sizes until I found same that worked. Kenetrek ME’s in a 13 were the trick. I could maybe use a very slightly wider toe box but it works. Find a store that carries several brands of good boots and just try on everything they have

Your foot is, or is not a wide, and there's a huge difference in a boot that is or isn't a wide.
Physically measure the widest part of your foot with a tape measure, if your foot is 4.25" or wider, you need a wide. You can not buy a longer boot to make up for that.

You can stand on a piece of paper wearing a sock, trace your foot and then measure it to get all your sizing if needed.
