Hyperlite ultamid 2 question

Can you pitch the Ultamid 2 with one trekking pole and an extension or is it too tall at 64"?

Thats I do. I use one of these 20 or 24" extensions.

Yeah, and Ruta Locura will also custom make CF pole extenders in various lengths, diameters, and wall thicknesses.

I just ordered the Ultamid. I was leaning to the Duomid as its a little less expensive and lighter. The Ultamid will fit me and the wife better though and with the sale today they got me.

Good choice! I think you’d be hard pressed to find a better built Mid.

Should DCF be rolled, folded, or just stuffed in the sack?

Rolled or folded both work fine and don't cause any issues regarding wear and tear. I typically do both, start by folding it until it's the same width as the stuff sack is long, then roll it up from there. The only issue with just stuffing it is that it tends to take up too much space (it doesn't stuff nearly as well as silnylon).

Just set it up for the first time. It's bigger than I imagined but for 2 people it will be much better than had I went with the duomid. For solo trips it gives me the space I was looking for away from my sleep gear. Quality it top notch.
