Hydration Setup

I have the same mobility issue; with all the packs I've owned (and that's plenty!) I've never been able to easily reach a water bottle in the side pockets.

I bet if you contact Stone Glacier there is a high likelihood they would make one of their "old style" bottle holders for you.

It was designed for their packs, but I had no trouble using it on my Seek Outside.

Hydrapak 3L Seeker dirty bag w/ Hydrapak/Katadyn filter cap and Nalgene
I’ve always used a Nalgene bottle and some sort of a pump filter. Then I switched to a sawyer and those bags gave me fits. So I went to a platypus gravity fed. That’s nice. Now I use the hydrapak with their filter and it’s stupid easy and way light because it doesn’t have a ton of part and tubes.

Is hydrapak pretty much the best of the bunch for lightweight collapsible water containers? I like to carry about 4L of water with on day hunts. Usually have 1-2 Nalgenes then the platypus platybottle. I carry a sawyer usually for emergency water then a Katadyn hiker pro for multi day backpack hunts

@wpeach1912: hey if that works for you, all good!

I would say that for me the hydrapak bags are a component of a water filtration and carrying system for my applicable: backpack hunting in Alaska. I don't' want to carry more water than I need, nor do I want to consume a bunch of time filtering.

My additional thoughts parallel @Mark at EXO 's great video:

How are you carrying your Nalgene? I want to use my side pockets but struggle to reach the Nalgene bottle.

Clean water is carried on my non dominant side (left side for me). This partially to help offset the weight of my rifle on my dominant side (right side for me).

When I was MR and SG, it was attached to my hip belt. I'm now into the Exo K4 line and utilizing their nalgene holder (https://exomtngear.com/products/k4-nalgene-holder).
