Hunting with a Shotgun Suppressor

I have a salvo 12 on a ksg. I like it. I have some other adapters for r870 and m500 but have only ran it on the ksg. It’s not loud. I’d agree that it doesn’t bother me with out ear protection. With 2 3/4 ‘s.

I picked up one of the earliest YHM Victra-12 suppressors this year (low 100s serial) and took it out dove hunting over the weekend. After severe disappointment with JK Armament's shotgun suppressor, I was VERY happy with this one.

The Victra-12 is fairly affordable, not too heavy (by shotgun suppressor standards), and does a really nice job, even on my semi-auto Beretta.

I hunted with a buddy this year who had a Banish 12. I should have tried it out but didn’t. He’s not your average duck hunter but he said you get used to it and thinks it would be perfect on a 22” barrel. He killed ducks with it.

What does that mean???
It’s how he makes his living, owns companies associated with waterfowl hunting, is sponsored by major manufacturers of gear and guns, spends a lot of time shooting birds/shotguns, etc.. He’s is someone who would be less bothered by a little additional weight or the change in the swing than the anverage weekend warrior. People who shoot a lot can make modifications to how they shoot and still kill lots of birds. I would bet that I would be bothered by it a lot more than him.
My dogs have all lost their hearing to soon. Looking at the adverse health effects of hearing loss in humans and the latest information on dementia in dogs, I think it’s worth trying and I’m going to give it a shot.

Thanks, I agree people worry too much, seems like a few hours of practice with that heavy silencer would get somebody with average proficiency used to it so it wouldnt bother them anymore.
