Will be putting in for tags in a week or so. First round is lottery for max of 2. Then I’ll scour for leftovers in known area.

In other news, pulled fishing boat last Monday for new bottom job and other random items This morning I took care of engine and genset annuals. Hope to splash on Thursday and then head offshore for 2-3 days after swords, tuna and deep water groupers! Have schedule clear for Thur through Monday. Just need wx to cooperate and find some talent to put on board.

Have a very similar gator setup to you, 17ft john.... but when the St. John's river is high enough I chase them with the bay boat. Only rule is I handle the bang stick

Weather forecast was about as wrong as it could be last weekend and my 60 hr trip wound up being about a 30 hr trip after nobody got any sleep Fri night.

Managed to find a few Bluewater fish in the short time we actually fished, though.

blowing right stiff, but found a way to pull away at 730 and be tied up by 1:00. Not bad.

Gonna try again tomorrow. Ugh… Today. Father in law 80th birthday and we need lots is fresh fish. Our share from yesterday kitchen clean and ready for grease.

Day 2. Took FIL who turns 80 tomorrow, and another family, plus my pops.

Left at 745, tied up at 10:30.

I would have liked to look for better fish, but the 2.5 year old, the 4 year old , the 80 year old and the driver (even at just 42) said let’s head home

I like it. We use it place of just about anything you’d use white chicken meat in. Deep fried, obviously, but also in curries, skewers, stews, etc. I only eat the white meat (loins, TL, and jowl). Tried leg meat a few times and it’s just not very good, even on small ones. I will say that you’ll occasionally get a funky bite or two once they get over about 9 feet.

My family loves NW FL...I always thought it would be hard to move away from big IL deer...but I could get addicted to deep sea and gators!

Did anyone take you up on your offer? I’ve actually been looking for a gator hunt as it’s on my bucket list.

But I’d gladly trade you a hunt if you’d be interested in an AZ or NM coues deer, mule deer, or elk (as hard as the tags are to draw).

Man being from Kansas my fish intake is limited but I eat it every chance I get. We vacationed in the 30a area a couple years back and that’s all I ordered when we went out.
