I'm in my 50s, and although I had 20/20 eye sight most of my life, I've started wearing reading glasses over the past few years, so I know where you're coming from! So, on the Maven, not sure I want a FFP scope for hunting out to 250-300 yards. Looking like the VX5HD Gen 2 is a good choice.
Anyone with experience with the VX4HD?
I have several VX-5HD 3-15x44 scopes and one VX-4HD 3-12x40, and they are some of the easiest scopes to get behind I've ever used. They eye box on all of them is VERY forgiving.
My Steiner Predator 4 2.5-10x42 is probably just as good. It's a fantastic scope with a great hunting reticle.
I also own a NF ATACR, Trijicons, Schmidt & Bender, Vortex, etc. They are all fabulous scopes, but for hunting purposes I think the Leupolds and the Steiner are easier on my eyes. Just my two cents.
