Hunting scope for a carbon barreled sig cross?

I currently re-barreled my sig cross with a 20 in 6.5 creed and was looking at scopes, due to this will be a backpack hunting set up for mule deer and bear hunting, looking for thoughts on scope options . I'm not really looking to spend more than about 1500, thanks

On a Cross that is supposed to stay backpack friendly, I'd keep the scope in the 2.5-15 or 3-15 lane and avoid hanging a 26 ounce optic on it unless you know you'll be dialing a bunch. A VX-5HD 3-15 is hard to argue with if you want to keep the rifle lively, an SHV 3-10 makes sense if you care more about bombproof than weight, and the Maven RS1.2 is worth a look if you want a more dial-friendly setup and do not mind carrying more scope. I'd also stay with capped windage and a simple hunting reticle for that rifle. Are you planning to dial, or mostly hold inside normal hunting distance?
